Who was Kenneth Jay Lane

Kenneth Jay Lane was one of the most successful costume jewelers of all time. He got his start designing shoes for Delman and Christian Dior, using his free time to create jewelry. By the late 60s, he opened his own design house. Lane has designed jewelry all across the price spectrum from unique designs for Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and the Duchess of Windsor to Avon; from Bergdorf Goodman to QVC.

Known for its high quality and incredible style, KJL jewelry ranges from classic pearls and gold metal door knocker earrings to ethnic tribal pieces and even over-the-top rococo and baroque designs. KJL designed for many companies over the past 50 years and the age of his pieces can be determined by the marks shown on our KJL blog post.

Kenneth Jay Lane passed away in 2017. Every woman should have at least one piece of KJL in her collection. Be sure to read our post on this amazing and prolific jewelry designer.
