About Eisenberg Jewelry

Eisenberg jewelry was a fluke.  Harold Eisenberg founded Eisenberg & Sons in 1914, as a ladies’ clothing manufacturer that made “a little jewelry” to sell dresses.  When the brooches kept “disappearing”, department stores begged the company to sell the jewelry separately, which began one of the premier costume jewelry companies in the world.   By the late fifties, the company shut down its clothing division to concentrate on costume jewelry.

Known for the quality of their designs, stones, and mounting, Eisenberg made all styles of jewelry including replicas of 18th-century jewelry, abstract pieces, and wonderful Christmas pins.  A special collection of six to seven styles of sparkling rhinestone jewelry was released each year under the name Eisenberg Ice and sold at higher prices.

In the 1970s Karl Eisenberg, Harold’s grandson, created the Artists series of enameled jewelry based on the designs of famous modern artists including Emilio Pucci Marc Chagall, Joan Miro, Victor Vasarely, Alexander Calder, and Pablo Picasso.  The jewelry is highly prized by collectors.  You can view the various jewelry marks here to help date the jewelry.
