ABOUT PECK & PECK
The History of Peck and Peck
Edgar Wallace Peck and his brother George H. Peck founded Peck and Peck in the 1880s. An American department store chain known for its attention to detail, customer service, innovative designs, and unique merchandise, the chain expanded to over 40 stores throughout the northeast and Midwest.
In 1983, the chain closed its doors permanently after bankruptcy and mismanagement. Despite the closure, Peck and Peck is an iconic part of America. In 2008, Stein Mart acquired the Peck & Peck trademark to use for its line of women’s clothing.
