About Siam Silver
Siam silver was a type of niello jewelry developed in Thailand for the tourist trade starting in the 1930s through the 1970s. Niello is a technique of filling a carved-out section of sterling silver with a black metallic compound usually made of sulfur, copper, silver, and lead, then polishing until smooth. Siam jewelry designs often depicted figures dancers or gods.
