This 1950s Warner blue rhinestone bug vrooch is a little bit of mid-century whimsy, done the Warner way.
Vintage Warner Brooch Details
This petite bug brooch features richly faceted deep blue rhinestones, prong-set in a dark japanned finish that gives the color real depth. The domed body stone catches the light beautifully, balanced by smaller stones along the wings and those delicate antennae tips.
It’s compact, but it doesn’t disappear. The Japanned finish adds just enough sparkle to catch the eye.
Pin it at the shoulder, along a collar, or tucked into a scarf—exactly where you want a small moment of interest.
- Late 1950s–early 1960s.
- Deep sapphire/cobalt faceted rivoli rhinestones.

- Warner mark.
- Roll-over safety clasp.
- Good vintage condition with light, age-appropriate wear. Stones bright and secure.

THE HISTORY OF WARNER JEWELRY
The History of Warner Jewelry
Warner was produced in New York from 1953 to 1971 and is often associated with Joseph Warner, whose name appears in mid-century advertising for the line. His designs were sold through major department stores and featured high-quality rhinestones in vibrant colors, often described as “imported stones.” Known for their prong-set construction and both bright and japanned finishes, Warner pieces have become favorites among collectors for their rich color, sparkle, and lasting craftsmanship.
HOW TO CARE FOR VINTAGE JEWELRY
How to Care for Vintage Jewelry
Always handle vintage jewelry gently and store it carefully between wearings. Keep each piece in a soft pouch or lined box to prevent scratches, tangling, or metal abrasion. Avoid contact with water, perfume, hairspray, and household cleaners, which can dull finishes or weaken settings. To clean, use a soft, dry cloth to wipe away oils and dust.
For metals and stones, use a mild, non-abrasive jewelry cleaner suited to the materials. Never submerge rhinestone or glued pieces in water or use ultrasonic cleaners, as moisture can damage the foil backing or loosen stones. With proper care, your vintage jewelry will retain its beauty and character for years to come.
