About Kingman Turquoise

Kingman turquoise comes from the Kingman Mine in the Cerbat Mountains near Kingman, Arizona. As one of the oldest and largest mines in North America, it has a history dating back over 1,000 years to pre-Columbian Native Americans.

People recognize Kingman turquoise for its bright blue hue, which ranges from sky blue to a deep, rich blue. Some stones may show a greenish tint due to iron content. The turquoise often features a matrix—a web or network of host rock within the stone—in black, brown, or golden colors, enhancing its unique appeal. The matrix pattern can appear as spiderweb-like or more irregular.

Many consider Kingman turquoise high quality, with some stones being dense and hard, making them ideal for jewelry.
