Monet Jewelry began in 1927 when brothers Michael and Joseph Chernow founded the company in Providence, Rhode Island. Originally named Monocraft, the brand focused on producing high-quality, gold-plated monograms and accessories. In the 1930s, the company rebranded as Monet and shifted its focus to designing and manufacturing costume jewelry. Monet became renowned for its exquisite craftsmanship and innovative designs, often imitating fine jewelry at a fraction of the cost.

Throughout the mid-20th century, Monet continued to grow, becoming a household name in the fashion world, and was celebrated for its bold, modern pieces. The brand introduced several innovations, including the use of clip-on earrings and adjustable bracelets, which set it apart from its competitors. Monet’s legacy continues today, with its vintage pieces highly sought after by collectors and fashion enthusiasts alike.   Read More . . .
