Diamonbar Bracelet Details

This Art Deco Diamonbar two-row sterling silver bracelet captures the crisp geometry and controlled sparkle that defined 1920s jewelry design. Alternating rows of emerald-green and clear paste rhinestones create a clean, rhythmic pattern, set into squared sterling links with a subtle industrial edge.

At the center, a buckle-inspired motif anchors the design—a popular Art Deco symbol of modernity and structure—while the bracelet secures with a tab clasp, keeping the silhouette streamlined and uninterrupted. The result is a bracelet that feels architectural rather than ornate, designed to catch the light without excess.

Elegant on its own and striking when stacked, this two-row version offers a slightly lighter profile than its three-row counterpart while maintaining the same bold Deco presence.

Why We Love It:

We love this piece for its design. No flourishes, no fuss—just pure Art Deco logic translated into silver and stone. The two-row format feels intentional and wearable, while the buckle motif adds just enough personality to keep it from being severe.

How to Care for Vintage Jewelry

Always handle vintage jewelry gently and store it carefully between wearings. Keep each piece in a soft pouch or lined box to prevent scratches, tangling, or metal abrasion. Avoid contact with water, perfume, hairspray, and household cleaners, which can dull finishes or weaken settings. To clean, use a soft, dry cloth to wipe away oils and dust. For metals and stones, use a mild, non-abrasive jewelry cleaner suited to the materials. Never submerge rhinestone or glued pieces in water or use ultrasonic cleaners, as moisture can damage the foil backing or loosen stones. With proper care, your vintage jewelry will retain its beauty and character for years to come.

About Diamonbar & Wachenheimer Bros.

Wachenheimer Brothers was a Providence, Rhode Island jewelry firm active from the early 1900s through the 1930s, best known for its beautifully engineered Diamonbar line of sterling bracelets. Led by inventor Harry Wachenheimer, the company specialized in precision-built articulated links that combined the sparkle of fine jewelry with the practicality of everyday wear.

In 1917, Harry Wachenheimer and Ernest L. Davis patented a new flexible bracelet construction—an innovative system of interlocking sterling links that required no solder and moved fluidly on the wrist. This patented design became the foundation of all Diamonbar pieces and remains one of the most technically sophisticated bracelet mechanisms of the Art Deco era.

Diamonbar bracelets typically featured:

  • Solid sterling silver
  • High-quality paste rhinestones in clear or jewel-tone colors
  • Distinctive motifs such as buckle clasps, geometric plaques, or multi-row link patterns
  • Maker’s marks including DIAMONBAR, STERLING, and patent dates.

Produced primarily during the 1920s and early 1930s, Diamonbar bracelets were sold through fine jewelers and department stores and were prized for their sleek, modern design and exceptional craftsmanship. Today, they are sought-after collectibles, celebrated for their Deco styling, technical ingenuity, and enduring wearability.

About Art Deco

Art Deco began in Paris in the 1910s and reached full brilliance in the 1920s–30s, blending bold geometry with a fascination for modernity. Inspired by cubism, ancient Egypt, and the machine age, designers embraced strong lines, vivid enamels, and striking contrasts. Today, authentic Art Deco pieces are treasured for their crisp symmetry and the glamorous, forward-looking style that defined the era.
