Henry White Ltd, a distinguished Dublin-based clothing manufacturer, was founded by Henry White, born in 1909. At the age of 13, he began his career by cycling around County Meath, selling pencils and notebooks. He later expanded his ventures, traveling by horse and carriage to sell clothes. By the age of 20, White had established his first factory on Abbey Street in Dublin called Sty-lex.
The company officially adopted the name Henry White Ltd in 1952, marking a significant milestone in its development. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Henry White Ltd gained recognition for its use of Alcantara, a fashionable washable suede material of that era.
Over the decades, Henry White Ltd became synonymous with high-quality Irish-made garments, reflecting a commitment to durability and craftsmanship. The company’s legacy continues to be celebrated for its contributions to Irish fashion and textile manufacturing.
