What is horsehair?
Hair taken from the manes and tails of horses was widely used in millinery in the 19th Century to that 1910s. Once synthetic horsehair became available real horsehair fell out of favor.. Most 20th century hats, like this one, are made of synthetic horsehair, usually crinoline.
About the Milliners
British milliner Gabriela Ligenza has been designing bespoke hats for over 25 years and divides her time between London and Florence. Her career started by accident after spotting a hat she loved in a London club. She decided to make her own and her friends liked the hat she created an entire collection. Her hat quality is comparable to Phillip Treacy and Steven Jones. This hat was a collaboration with the Marzi Brothers, another legendary milliner who has been in business since 1924.
NOT SHIPPABLE TO ITALY due to Italian customs prohibition.
