About Capri Jewelry

Sol Smith founded Capri in the early 1950s.  The company was known for high-quality costume jewelry in gold electroplate or goldtone metal, silvertone metal, and enamel.  Materials included faux pearls and colored or clear stones.  Collections were small and in various styles such as figurals, and modernist abstract designs.

In 1970 Capri merged with Jerry DiNicola jewelry and the DiNicola name.  Capri closed in the late 1970s.
