Founded by David Lisner in 1904, the company started as a wholesaler, well known as the importer of Schiaparelli jewelry. The company produced their own jewelry in Providence, RI starting in the early 30s, and employed the newest materials such as Dupont’s new colored acrylic plastic called Lucite. Clear and colored rhinestones (particularly aurora borealis) and lava stones, chromed, silver-plated, and black japanned metal were also widely used. Lisner is has become very collectible as more vintage jewelry lovers appreciate the wonderful shapes and colors.
