Shannon Rodgers for Jerry Silverman was one of the most successful dress manufacturers in the 1960s – 70s. As equal partners in Jerry Silverman, Inc, Silverman handling the business end and Rodgers designed the clothing. The company’s fashions were featured in the best women’s shops and department stores in the country. In 1981, the men donated more than $5 million in costumes, antique furnishings and art to establish the Kent State University Museum. In 1983 KUS founded the school of fashion design and merchandising named in their honor. Jerry Silverman died in 1985. Shannon Rodgers, a professor and fashion museum curator at the school passed away in 1996.
