About Ungaro

Emanuel Ungaro, a prominent French fashion designer, established his eponymous fashion house in 1965. Born in Aix-en-Provence, France in 1933, he moved to Paris at age 22.,  He first worked for Cristobal Balenciaga then moved to Courrèges.

In 1965 he launched his own fashion label and opened his first boutique in Paris. His designs were characterized by their bold use of color, vibrant prints, and innovative draping techniques. He was celebrated for his ability to create feminine and sensuous clothing that appealed to women seeking elegance and individuality.

Over the years, Ungaro’s fashion house gained international recognition and became synonymous with haute couture and ready-to-wear collections. He was known for his artistic and often theatrical runway shows. Throughout his career, Ungaro designed various types of clothing, including dresses, suits, evening gowns, and accessories.

Emanuel Ungaro’s contributions to the fashion industry earned him numerous awards and accolades. He retired from the fashion world in 2004, and his brand continued under various creative directors.

Emanuel Ungaro passed away on December 21, 2019, leaving behind a legacy of creativity and innovation in fashion. His work continues to influence and inspire designers and fashion enthusiasts worldwide.

Items are normally shipped within 5 business days.  Occasionally, there may be an issue with shipping times.  If so, we will let you know at once. Based on the best price, clothing, and accessories ship by USPS Priority Mail, UPS, or FedEx with insurance.   Jewelry ships First Class or Priority. International buyers handle all customs duties. PLEASE NOTE effective July 1, 2021, EU members are charged VAT taxes based on the specific country’s tax rates at the time of importation.

If so, we do offer returns.  After receipt of your vintage pieces, if you are unhappy or the item does not fit, please let Madge know of a return request within 10 days of receipt of merchandise and return items within 30 days after notification.
