We use a standard condition scale: Fair, Good, Very Good, and Mint. Most pieces fall in the Very Good range, showing only minor wear from age and careful use. Each product description includes detailed notes.

What is Cloisonne

Cloisonné is an enameling technique that dates back over a thousand years, with roots in the ancient Mediterranean and later refined and celebrated in China during the Ming dynasty (14th–17th centuries). Artisans shape fine metal wires into intricate patterns, forming tiny compartments—called cloisons—that are filled with colored enamel and fired to a smooth, glassy finish. Originally used on decorative objects like vases and vessels, cloisonné eventually found its way into jewelry, where its rich color and detailed craftsmanship continue to make it a favorite with collectors.

How to Care for Vintage Jewelry

Clothing and accessories ship via USPS Priority Mail, UPS, or FedEx, selecting the best option based on price and insurance. Jewelry ships either First Class or Priority. For overseas orders, we use International First Class. Please refer to our Shipping Information for detailed rates.
