About the Artists

Limoges is a storied area of France It is home to porcelain houses and art workshops working with enamel or stained glass. 

Camille Faure was a French enamel artist best known for his design work for the Limoges porcelain company in Limoges, France.  Known for floral and figurative patterns in richly glazed colors he co-created new enamel production methods involving enamels.  In 1925 Faure opened his own business in Limoges signed with the brand “C. Fauré Limoges”.  His daughter Andrée Faure took over the business after his death in 1956. “C. Fauré Limoges” closed its doors in 1985.

Enamel and glass artist Mauricette Pinoteau is one of the last living links to the Faure Limones studio.  After learning the craft of Aubusson tapestry, she studied with Andrée Faure in the 1970s. She opened her shop in Limoges, in 1991 and her work in enamel and glass is highly prized.
