This 1950s pink feather whimsy hat is a delightful confection designed to perch lightly atop the head while its airy veil frames the face.
Pink Whimsy Details
This fanciful whimsy is formed from layers of fine pink netting embellished with tiny chenille dots and scattered multicolored bead accents. A fringe of pale pink feathers circles the petite crown, each one seeming to float above the forehead.
A deeper pink velvet bow crowns the top, while the generous veil falls softly around the face. Because a whimsy rests on the crown rather than fitting around the head like a traditional hat, this one will accommodate most head sizes. Hatpins may be added for extra security.

What is a Whimsy
A whimsy is a small, decorative netted veil hat designed to perch atop the head rather than fit around it. Popular during the 1950s and early 1960s, whimsies often featured veiling, feathers, flowers, or bows and were secured with hatpins.

HOW TO FINDÂ YOUR HAT SIZE
- Pull a fabric tape measure or length of string around your head just slightly above the ear, across the mid-forehead, completely circling your head.
- Hold the tape firmly, but not too tightly. You are measuring your head exactly where the hat will sit in either inches or centimeters.
- If your measurement falls between sizes, choose the next largest size.
