About Ruth Gallin
Shenley-Gordon was a high-fashion ladies’ shop in Louisville, founded in 1919 as Shenley’s. In 1932, the store purchased the entire inventory of another local milliner, Gordon’s, and changed their name to Shenley-Gordon. The store was purchased in 1959 by Jacob Gallin, who was then the manager. His wife, Ruth, advertised hats under her own name, and her photo appeared on hat boxes and in advertisements. According to our research, the store seems to have closed in the late 1960s. ruth

HOW TO FIND YOUR HAT SIZE
- Pull a fabric tape measure or length of string around your head just slightly above the ear, across the mid-forehead, completely circling your head.
- Hold the tape firmly, but not too tightly. You are measuring your head exactly where the hat will sit in either inches or centimeters.
- If your measurement falls between sizes, choose the next largest size.
