ABOUT ELLEN TRACY
Ellen Tracy is an American fashion brand founded in 1949 by Herbert Gallen in New York City. The name “Ellen Tracy” was created for the label — not a real person — to give the brand a feminine identity as it launched in women’s apparel. Known for clean lines, refined tailoring, and versatile wardrobe staples, Ellen Tracy expanded from blouses into a full ready-to-wear and accessories line.
Lines included Linda Allard for Ellen Tracy, Ellen Tracy dresses, and Company. The firm was purchased by Liz Claiborne in 2002.
Vintage Ellen Tracy pieces are valued today for their quality construction and timeless, polished style.
