About Kingman Turquoise?

This type of turquoise is mined mainly from the Kingman Mine in the Cerbat Mountains, near Kingman, Arizona.  This mine is one of the oldest and largest in North America, with a history that dates back over 1,000 years to pre-Columbian Native Americans.

Kingman turquoise is renowned for its bright blue hue,  ranging from sky blue to a deep, rich blue. Some stones may exhibit a greenish tint due to iron content. Often, it has a matrix (a web or network of host rock within the turquoise) of black, brown, or golden color, adding to its unique appeal. The matrix pattern can be spiderweb-like or more irregular.

Kingman turquoise is considered high quality, with some stones being dense and hard, suitable for jewelry.
