Vintage 1980s Derby-ready black sinamay straw tilt hat with sculptural trim and secure hair clip for easy wear.
Sinamay Straw Tilt Hat Details
A striking vintage piece designed to sit at an angle with sculptural movement and confident presence.
This is not a dainty fascinator. It’s a true tilt hat with structure and presence—made to be seen.
A sculpted sinamay base forms a wide, shallow disc, trimmed with airy loops of sinamay ribbon and anchored by a dramatic spray of feathers. Tall pheasant plumes rise through a soft cluster of black hackle, adding height, texture, and just enough wildness to keep things interesting.
Lightweight but visually bold, it frames the face beautifully, whether worn to the side or slightly forward.
Secured with a hidden metal hair clip, making it easy to position at just the right angle—no pins required.

Why We Love It

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR HAT SIZE
HOW TO FINDÂ YOUR HAT SIZE
- Pull a fabric tape measure or length of string around your head just slightly above the ear, across the mid-forehead, completely circling your head.
- Hold the tape firmly, but not too tightly. You are measuring your head exactly where the hat will sit in either inches or centimeters.
- If your measurement falls between sizes, choose the next largest size.
- Then buy a fabulous vintage hat from Madge

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR VINTAGE HAT
Vintage Hat Care
Always handle vintage hats by the brim, not the crown. Store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep them in a hatbox or covered with acid-free tissue to prevent dust. Avoid using modern sprays or steam, as these can damage delicate materials and trims. For reshaping or cleaning, it’s best to consult a professional milliner experienced in vintage restoration.
