About Limoges Jewelry

Limoges, a city in central France, has built a reputation for its porcelain and enamel work since the 19th century. During the Art Nouveau period, the company created jewelry that often showcased intricate enamel designs inspired by nature, mythology, and the female form.

Camille Faure (1874–1956), a French artist working in Limoges, mastered enameling techniques and earned acclaim for his innovative style. Born in Saint-Vallier, France, he trained as a chemist but pursued his true passion in the arts, especially enameling. Faure pioneered new techniques and styles that helped shape the Art Nouveau movement.

His enamels stood out for their vibrant colors, detailed designs, and extraordinary craftsmanship. He frequently collaborated with other prominent artists of his era.

In 1972, Mauricette Pinoteau joined the workshop run by Faure’s daughter and learned his complex enameling methods. She continues to honor his legacy through her own jewelry designs, including this striking Limoges fused glass necklace.
