Highly collectible Coro cameo brooch.
Vintage Mourning Brooch Details
- Oval black glass vintage cameo from Coro set in a gold metal rectangular “picture frame” setting.
- This brooch is designed in the style of Victorian revival mourning jewelry.
- A small ring of pearl beading around the outside of the cameo.
- Wear it as a brooch or hang it from your favorite strand of pearls.
- The design patent number from the 1940s dates this piece.
About Coro/Corocraft/Vendome
Emanuel Cohn and Carl Rosenberger started Coro in 1901 as a small accessories store on Broadway in New York City. The company officially changed the company’s name to Coro Inc., a combination of the two names, in 1943.”Coro was once one of the largest costume jewelry companies in the world.
Major lines included Coro, Corocraft, and Vendome. Vendome, the most exclusive line, was featured at high-end department stores. Regular department stores that carried the main Coro lines were not allowed to carry Vendome
Coro employed many distinctive designers including Adolph Katz, design director; Gene Verecchio; Oscar Placco; Robert Geissmann, and Massa Raimond.

Based on the best price, clothing, and accessories ship by USPS Priority Mail, UPS, or FedEx with insurance. Jewelry is shipped First Class or Priority.
