Modernist Kramer necklace with thermoplastic tile links in a distinctive crackle finish.
Approx. Size: 16″ x .75″ (40.5 x 2 cm).
Condition: One small section of the string is missing between two links. You can see the gap in the lower-left corner in the first photo. Since each link is fastened separately no other links are affected.
Era: 1960s.
Mark: None. Original hang tag is missing.

A sensational Kramer necklace has beautiful tile links in a choker length.
Vintage Kramer Necklace Details
- 1960s modernist tile necklace by Kramer.
- Rectangular links of cream thermoset plastic with gold crackle finish.
- Links are double-strung with plastic inset in the links.
- A small gap between each link emphasizes the design.
- Gold metal back.
- Hook clasp with gold chain extender.
Thermoset refers to plastics contain polymers that cross-link together during the curing process to form an irreversible chemical bond. The cross-linking process eliminates the risk of remelting.
About Kramer Jewelry
Kramer was founded by Louis Kramer in 1943. Since all activities of the company were centered in New York City many of the pieces are marked “Kramer NYC or Kramer of New York. The company was known for its intricate design work and use of rhinestones particularly in floral or geometric patterns. Kramer was also a maker for Dior in the 1950s-60s.
