Vintage Orange Hat Details
- Wide brim orange felt vintage hat.
- Orange ribbon tie with a slide adjustment.
- Ribbon tie may be worn out or tucked into the hat.
- Wool felt.
Shenley-Gordon was a high fashion ladies shop in Louisville founded in 1919 as Shenley’s. In 1932 the store purchased the entire inventory of another local milliner, Gordon’s and changed their name to Shenley-Gordon. The store was purchased in 1959 by then manager Jacob Gallin. His wife Ruth advertised hats under her name and her photo was on hat boxes and in ads. From our research, it appears the store closed in the late 60s.
