WHAT IS A TURBAN
What is a Turban
The turban is a headdress formed from a long, draped scarf wrapped around the head, or a rigid hat with a beehive shaped crown and no brim, wrapped and draped with fabric to resemble a wrapped scarf turban. Turbans date back 5,000 years to Mesopotamia,
Popularized for women by Paul Poiret in the first decade of the 1900s, the turban formed the transition from the huge hats of the decade to the close-fitting cloche of the 1920s.
Turbans were very popular from the 1910s to the 1940s, and in the 1960s. 1960s turbans were often constructed over a rigid frame similar to a toque or pillbox.

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR HAT SIZE
HOW TO FIND YOUR HAT SIZE
- Pull a fabric tape measure or length of string around your head just slightly above the ear, across the mid-forehead, completely circling your head.
- Hold the tape firmly, but not too tightly. You are measuring your head exactly where the hat will sit in either inches or centimeters.
- If your measurement falls between sizes, choose the next largest size.
