The History

The Lunar New Year, celebrated by millions of people around the globe, is on a twelve-year cycle. While the Western solar calendar is based on the earth’s passage around the sun, lunar calendars set their timing on the different phases of the moon.  Each phase has its zodiac symbol, an animal, that returns around every twelve years.

The Year of the Dragon

This year, it’s the Dragon, a symbol of strength and courage.  The Dragon is defined by strength, charisma, and boundless ambition. Dragons are natural leaders, exuding confidence and charm that inspire others. Known for their creativity and innovative thinking, they excel at solving problems and pursuing bold visions. With courage and determination, they tackle challenges head-on, often achieving remarkable success. However, their independence and assertiveness sometimes make them appear stubborn or impatient.

Dragons thrive on energy, enthusiasm, and adventure, making them magnetic personalities who seize opportunities and embrace the spotlight.  You can find out your lunar animal here.

No surprise, based on Madge’s birthday, she’s a Rooster since she loves feather hats and strutting around. :-). So get your Dragon vibe on with these fabulous vintage selections from MadgesHatbox.
